Changes to services 1, 18, 22, X63 and Scholars contracts in Newcastle

from 1st September 2019

From 1st September 2019, the following changes will be made to services in Newcastle:

Service 1 will revert to the term-time schedule, operating up to every 7 minutes between Coach Lane Campus and Cruddas Park, extending to Slatyford or Buddle Road every 15 minutes, and across to Cobalt Business Park every 30 minutes. This change sees the PVR increase back up to 16 vehicles.

Service 18 will be revised to once again serve Killingworth Road following the completion of major roadworks. Buses will travel via Killingworth Road, BT Call Centre and Longbenton to Four Lane Ends from where they will continue either to Quorum Business Park (peak) or Benton Estate (off peak). The peak time extension to Quorum provides new employment links to the business park from the east end of the City.

The route of Service 22 reverts to normal, no longer serving Middle Engine Lane, following the completion of major roadworks at Silverlink roundabout. In addition, there are some minor timing changes.

Service X63 will be revised to once again serve Killingworth Road following the completion of major roadworks. Buses will travel via Killingworth Road, BT Call Centre and South Gosforth, no longer serving Benton Road. The route in the City Centre also reverts to Barras Bridge, Blackett Street and New Bridge Street, with buses no longer serving John Dobson Street.

From 2nd September 2019, Stagecoach in Newcastle will operate journeys on six scholars services (106, 111, 134, 135, 137 and 140). Scholars services 107, 117, 139, 141, 155, 664, 678, 686 and 687 which were operated in the 2018-19 academic year terminated on 17 July 2019.
